Why Astrologers Will Make their New Years Resolutions on Monday

With 5 planets in Sagittarius at this New Moon on Monday morning it's an epic time to focus on the year ahead.  Course, there's the Full Moon on the 2nd, so if you don't make it in time you can make some lasting pacts with yourself then.  However, get ahead and treat yo self on Monday morning.

What is a New Moon?

When the Sun and Moon meet each month the moon is dark, hidden and re-set; the moon is resting, incognito and hidden from view.  The Moon rules the sign of Cancer, it influences the tides and is strongly connected to water... it's always changing, always cycling.  This phase of the cycle is the time when we rest, when we are introverted and hidden from few... when we are more inward looking.  As it's the beginning of a new cycle it is time to start a fresh and plant some seeds to bloom at the corresponding Full Moon (the end of the cycle, the party, celebration, the finale!)

New Moon in Sagittarius

On Monday there will be five planets in Sagittarius; Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Saturn.  That's a lot of Sagittarius energy to play with.  There are also harmonious aspects to the North Node (our destiny) and Uranus (game changer) so this really is the time to THINK BIG and THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.

At the New Moon we should write down our intentions, I stick to Jan Spiller's prescription of caveating everything I ask for with "I would like to easily and happily..." because if you ask for something without grace it may be delivered like a slap around the face!

So for example, "I would like to find the right new course for me to study in the new year that will easily fit around my current schedule."  If you aren't precise you could end up overloaded!  I know this may sound mental but this stuff works and... be careful what you wish for!

Intentions

In the UK the New Moon is at 6.30am so I'll be getting up, leaving my phone off and really using this Retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius to feel out what I want to achieve next year.  Two key words there: feel and achieve.  Feel because Mercury is Retrograde so we're in our non-rational intuitive brain at the moment, gut instincts rule the day.  Achieve because Saturn is at the FINAL degree of Sagittarius and he's about to hit Capricorn and lay down the law.  Saturn is known as the Lord of Karma, if you're not on your life path, he'll let you know about it with a difficult life phase or period of depression (given as a gift and opportunity to reflect on what needs to change.  Tough love.)  Saturn wants you to do what you were born to do.

That reminds me of something I heard on the radio this morning regarding the Oxford Dictionary's word of the year; youthquake.

The noun, youthquake, is defined as ‘a significant cultural, political, or social change arising from the actions or influence of young people’.

BAM! Isn't that just Saturn Returning to Capricorn.  Most clients I speak to at the minute are born in 1988 and Saturn is coming to facilitate their youthquake.  Why?  Because in 1988 Saturn and Uranus were conjunct in Capricorn.  So as Saturn returns to where he was when they were born, Uranus infused shocks and shifts will also be awoken!  Saturn rules rigid structures and Uranus rules sudden shocks and changes.  They gonna shake shit up as the rules and regulations may change suddenly.

New Moon

Maybe one day I won't get sidetracked!  I love a sidetrack but back to the New Moon!  The general feeling is that Saturn in Capricorn is going to slow things down, it will demand focus and attention, demand that our structures are reinforced.  However, we are still in changeable Sagittarius and charming Venus is there too.  Ideas of beauty, dreams, ideals, philosophy, travel, adventure, bucket lists, once in a lifetime trips, parties and celebrations are on the cards.  What big dream do you want to see in your life 2018?

Write 10 things down and let them bloom in 2018.

Sagittarius Vibes

If you know your rising sign, which house all of these Sagittarius planets will fall in your chart, then you can make even more specific intentions.  Remember this is about, thinking outside of the box, changing life up a gear and dreaming big.  Sagittarius understands that the universe is abundant, it gives and expects to receive, believing that everyone is equally giving.  Sagittarius is known to be the luckiest sign of the zodiac, because it expects good things so looks for them and doesn't rest until they are found.

The Law of Attraction comes into play and enhances this philosophy.  I'll stick in some quotes for you to ponder!  Think big and think generously, the change starts with us. Authenticity is key.

Big love,
