New Moon In Scorpio - What is Ritual?

Mrs Biggs, my maths teacher, used to say, “if you're stuck on a question, leave it, go to sleep and go back to it the next day, your subconscious will be working on it and the next day you will be able to do it.”

I feel like all the numbers of astrology, all the aspects and transits are now firmly embedded in my subconscious, so the things I think are totally linked to transits!  I have ideas and then when I look at the transits they match my thoughts!

I knew it was a new moon today but I didn’t know how linked it was to my chart.  There is a new moon at 5.38pm today and Gemini will be rising at 5 degrees.

For all of us born from 1983 to 1989 this moon is transiting our natal Pluto.

TRANSLATION PLEASE!

Pluto rules Scorpio; both are all about depth, intensity, waste, the underworld.  Halloween is in late October, it’s all about ghosts and death; it’s Scorpio. In the church we have All Saints day and All Souls Day following Halloween.

Pluto regenerates, rebirths, destroys and rebuilds.  It’s a cleanse!  It rules the colon and waste,it’s not something that people like to talk about.  Pluto and Scorpio also rule sex, birth and death.  It’s all very taboo, YET it’s the parts of live that are most intrinsic and inevitable.  Tax is also a Pluto, Scorpio, 8th House issue and so is Insurance.  People always say to me that it’s strange doing Insurance and Astrology.  It actually isn’t, they are both 8th house topics!  I have 4 planets in the 8th including my MC, which is considered to be our career line.

So when the new moon transits pluto we are shaking things up!

I started with this story because I got home last night determined to throw out everything in my room and leave write out my intentions on big pieces of paper and leave them around my room.  This new moon is in my 6th house, all about tidiness (virgo things) and work!  Ha! It really fits.

Next month on the full moon I'm going to do a limited number of personal readings for people about where the moon falls in their chart and how best to work with the vibe!  New intention set.  Please get in touch  if you are interested. I will start next month with 30 minute readings for £20 and see how that works.  It will include some follow up notes.

I am really really NOT into generic horoscopes as they only make sense for approx 25% of each star sign if we're working but transit.  I've always loved astrology, always seen patterns in people, never ever have I taken heed of anything I have read in a horoscope.  (Listen to this Saturn wench speak!)  I do read them though, course!  In the same way most of us read them and then ignore them.  It's the innate fascination with astrology that so many people have!  Great astrologers write great horoscopes and they talk about the energy in the skies so it kinda makes sense however we are all so complicated and conflicted I do think Astrology as a subject is undermined by horoscopes.
When I started this blog I always said I wanted to DEMYSTIFY astrology... however as I progress I'm becoming more and more mystic!  So to balance that I want to give you a New Moon Ritual idea that isn't mental.

Ritual is such a witchy word!  However, Christmas, Easter, Birthdays... they are all rituals!  Baking a birthday cake, putting candles on it and setting fire to them seems perfectly normal because it's COMMONPLACE.  When you think about it, it's quite strange.  We also say "many happy returns."  Ever thought about why?  In astrology a birthday is a "Solar Return" you've heard me talk about the Saturn Return... Many Happy (Solar) Returns.  I tried Googling this to confirm this idea but the blog posts are all nonsense.

Rituals are strange when you think about them.  However, they are great MARKERS, great way to stop and soak up the moment. I love ritual, I've said this before.  I love religion for that reason... rituals help people grow and develop.  Marriage, funerals, celebrations and collective mourning. Rituals help people to process life and bring people together.
As always this moon is a chance to let go of something and make way for new.

How to have a New Moon ritual?

  • Write down what you want to aim and what you want to let go of.

  • Clean your home and cleanse the air with frankincense, sage or aromatherapy oil (more on that coming up!)

  • Do whatever you want!  I love writing so always go straight in there with writing.  But you could just have a bath and a relax!  Do anything that facilitates a STOP, a pause and a change in attitude.

  • Meditate on the area of your chart that is impacted and work our what you would like to change!

That's all, I want to post this as it's nearly 3!

Have a WONDERFUL day.

Big love,
Frank x x x
