This could prove to be a testing month, it could also be marvellous. I would say that  this is an opportunity to upgrade, deepen your emotional life, let the past go and sail into the new with a raw but open heart. I've taken some words from some wise people below. As it is “Cancer Season” I suggest everyone reads the horoscope for Cancer before going on to read their own.  The same sky is affecting us all and with the Sun in Cancer, and then Leo from the 22nd of the month, there are truths contained with the next few paragraphs for all of us.

Cancer Season 

Dear Cancer, it’s all about you at the moment so you’re the first horoscope of the day, I’ll type fast because the keyboard is roasting hot! 

Mars leaves your sign on the 2nd of the month but Venus and the Moon join on the 4th.  Agitated, defensive Mars energy, who has his guard up at all times is leaving and being replaced with soft, loving, caring feminine Lunar and Venusian energy.  Take action, protect the things you care about, be forthright and act with heart led intention, keep the love flowing.

As the month progresses the eclipses on the 2nd and 16th of the month offer us all (but especially you) an opportunity to wipe the slate clean, press reset and reconnect to what *feels* right to you.  There will probably be some opposition, delays, challenges and a familiar temptation to control others. Remember that empathy is your greatest super power, any control freak tendencies can be neutralised by the healing capacity of your big open heart! 

The new moon eclipse on the 2nd is the day to write down your intentions about how you want to approach the world. Whereas the lunar eclipse on the 16th calls you you to attend to your relationships. 

What a month!  If I were a cancer I would be eating well, exercising and keeping a very close eye on my thoughts, watching, observing and remembering not to believe everything I think.  The Full Moon on the 16th is a great time for romance and to reset your relationships.  This is a challenging time, there are no two ways about it, but challenge is not automatically bad news, just as a party is not automatically fun.  Leaving the past in the past and trusting your emotions will serve you at this time.

Mercury turns retrograde on the 7th for the rest of the month.  He leaves Cancer on the 19th and heads back to Leo, this is interesting for you too, especially those of you born at the end of the month.  What creative expression is longing to be born?  How are you putting your mind to work, does what you say feel right?  Mercury retro is about reconsidering and “re” everything.  Re-evaluating and this month REMINDING yourself what you love.

Leo

Dearest Leo, your ruler the Sun is up to all sorts of activity this month.  Mercury will retrograde back into your sign on the 19th and there is a pair of eclipses that fall in the zones of your chart that rule health, healing and the subconscious.  Also, on the final day of the month there is a New Moon in Leo at 11.11.  Where to start?!  

A few hours before the eclipse on the 2nd, Mars joins Mercury who is already in your sign and this provides you the oomph you need to feel motivated into articulating and exploring what you have realised needs change.  The eclipse triggers your 12th house requires exploration of your subconscious. When you write your intentions this month, take time to meditate on them first, we might expect some unexpected ideas to bubble to the surface.

The Sun is your ruler so when his light is eclipsed, there is a very brief moment release and reset, it’s like pulling the plug out of the wall when the computer is overheating.  What will you bring into the space created by this pause in energetic flow? 

The Sun generously gives out his light, gratitude for this vital energy goes a long way.  Especially as on the 9th the Sun opposes Saturn and then on the 14th the Sun opposes Pluto.  These big power players could indicate that you meet some people who get in your way, or you get in your own way, or that there is some barrier to self-expression that pushes you to refine your delivery and assess the purity of where you are going and what you want to do.  There are also some more liberated and energetic days on the 11th and 29th of the month where you are asked to connect again to your dreams and express yourself as authentically as possible.

When Mercury leaves your sign on the 19th of the month it enters your dream zone and again, connects you to your subconscious encouraging you to either conquer or surrender to any limiting thoughts, situations and fears.

The New Moon in you sign at the end of the month (if you’re in the USA) or on the 1st of August if you’re in the UK will enable you to fuel Leo season with powerful intentions that are pumped with the clarity you generate this month. Venus moves to your sign on the 28th of July, August is for love and fun. Use the transformative power of July wisely.

Virgo 

Dear Virgo, your ruler goes retrograde on the 7th of the month and it is said that this impacts you and your quirky brother Gemini more than most! Perhaps this is true because your nature asks you to be exact, detailed and ensure life operates at full efficiency.  This month as Mercury moves back from Leo in to Cancer you might want to relax a little, let go of that perfectionist streak and go with the flow! 

The eclipses are asking you to get involve with your mates, create the life you want, look at the bigger picture and “don’t sweat the small stuff.”  I know many-a-Virgo who has become so stressed about something minor that they haven’t been able to enjoy the day / week / event (replace as appropriate) in all its glory!  So deep breaths, leave some room for error and beware the inner critic, their voice holds you back and your sweet caring nature wants to thrive! 

Libra

Launched into the mix the eclipses are sounding their drums and alerting you to the opportunities you can create when you connect to what feels right and make an effort to build the life you want to see.  As I’ve already said, the current astrological sky is rife with strife but that does not have to be a negative thing.  Challenging aspects push us to develop and move on.  You are still being called to do what you CARE about, what feels right to you and to listen to your heart.  Duty, expectation, control and manipulation may have been driving your decisions.  An eclipse is a time to wipe the  slate clean and dive into understanding what you want to feel and making that happen.  Leading from a place of love, not duty. 

Your ruler Venus is in the mix with the Lunar eclipse on the 16th of July.  I imagine this will be a blood moon eclipse at about 11pm and your ruler is moving for a head to head with Saturn.  The word SHOULD springs to mind.  What should you be doing for your family, what would you love to create?  The pull to put your needs after other’s, or vice versa is probably playing out in your life at the moment.  Remove the “oughts” and decide what you want to construct in your life.  Your diplomacy skills are being put to the test, old habits die here, move forwards and let go of expectations.

Scorpio

Your ruler Pluto is still at the South Node and again, old habits can be flushed away here.  Ever familiar with transformation, turbulence and change there is a possibility for high drama and passionate scenes.  However, with this eclipse at the North Node in fellow water sign Cancer, and with Neptune still in Pisces, your transformation is supported and this translates as release.  This reset occurs on the 2nd and supports the release of bad habits and an opportunity to create anything that you secretly crave.  With the eclipse taking place in your 9th house, destinations abroad, higher education and making your dream project a reality is implicated but it takes work, focus, determination and a refusal to absorb any negativity. 

Mercury moves retrograde on the 7th, so The Moon will be in Scorpio on the 10th, 11th and 12th of July, with the 11th being a particularly well supported day for letting go and connecting easily to what you really feel.

Sagittarius

Jupiter is still resting in your sign and from the 25th of July to the 29th of August he will sit at 14 degrees of Sagittarius conjunct the Great Attractor! Boom.  That an opportunity, particular for anyone who has planets or angles at the mid degrees of Sagittarius.  Neptune continues to square this aspect but this can boost the impact of big dreams.  I’ve seen quite a few clients recently who have planets and angles at this point and have told me “I feel invincible and like I can achieve anything.” Sagittarius, make 2019 the summer of love.

The eclipses are prodding at your finances and your value system.  The eclipses in January encouraged Sagittarius to refrain from overspending and to reign in your debts, if you put this into action then you might see some progress now.  Saving, prudent spending, setting limits and not falling into bad habits will set you free and open up your personal value system without limits. 

“How you do money, is how you do life.” An erratic relationship with finances trickles into erratic relationships an all areas of our life.  Financial security can help you to bond with another and reduce the fear factor of commitment and bonding.  The 8th house is coined as being related to “sex, death and other people’s money.” The eclipse on the 2nd sparks this part of your chart and asks you to set some clear intentions that relate to your finances, values and intimate relationships.

Capricorn

The jet wash is still on you, particularly those of you born around the middle of January or those with planets or angles around 19 degrees Capricorn.  The very structure of your life is still under construction and I hope you continue to find treasure in the foundations.  The eclipse on the 2nd brings your personal relationships to the fore, a great time to explore what you want and what you give, what holds you back, what makes you love more? At this time your self esteem can be tied up in your relationships but the emergence of a relationship is wholly dependent on our own personal self-esteem!  So, if you're pretending to like someone, are you pretending to like yourself? What drives your relationship choices? How can you love yourself and love your partner more?

There is a lunar eclipse in Capricorn on the 16th of the month and this is when emotions are heightened and released. As this full moon is an eclipse we have the opportunity to accept the constrains that have previously held us back and either move beyond them or surrender to their force.

Nothing is simple this July, especially not for Cancer and Capricorn. Do look back to the themes of the eclipses in January, were there major lessons there? Perhaps these issues could be resolved now, or simply hammered home again. Your identity is being galvanised via your relationships with others.

Aquarius

Dear Aquarius the first eclipse this month is in your area of service.  Your naturally humanitarian disposition could be activated into action when you decide to contribute to a group or project that is larger than yourself.  This is also the most excellent time to begin a new health regime, try a new diet (eliminate the excess) and really commit to your goals.  The eclipses this month robust and require WORK, determination and focus. No one can do this for you.

Aquarius does not always love rules and being told what to do, so the involvement of Saturn and Pluto with these eclipses could make you feel hemmed in, restricted and worst of all; talked down to.  The solution is to harness your own inner power, focus and determination and take ownership of the new regime.  As for all of us this July, the work is hard but the fruits of our labours are potentially life changing.

Pisces

With you ruler retrograde and the ruler of your relationship zone retrograde, taking life in the slow lane could be advised. The upcoming eclipse on the 2nd of July is inviting you to explore your creative relationships; both those with children in your life and exploring your own inner child. 

"Spiritual development" (taking time to listen to your intuition) makes sense at this time; dedication to your meditative practices, whatever they may be;  perhaps swimming, painting, playing music or simply connecting with nature.  This will help you to define yourself, what you want, love and need with more clarity.

If you have been resisting change and progress then July could be a great time to go back over old ground and add some spice and new ways of approaching things to your existing plans. Nothing changes, if nothing gets changed!

The eclipses are calling you to take hold of your identity and firmly stamp your place in the world.

Aries

Your ruler leaves Cancer for Leo on the second day of July and this should see you feeling more energised and vital than the past month.  However, just like the rest of us the eclipses are calling you to action and the focus for you, again, is family and home life.  It is usual to see a change in our domestic environment when the 4th house is eclipsed!

Due to the nature of these eclipses, we are leaving things behind, moving on to pastures new and learning to let go of any limitations that held us back.  SECURITY is a key word, building a nest and putting our heart into it is called for, any fears that it might not work, or that we are too busy, don’t want to bond with someone else or general fears that stop us connecting emotionally to our environment can be seen and dismissed at this time.  The lunar eclipse on the 16th of July calls Aries to readdress the balance and spend some time focusing on work, but again using these aspects to become our own power, our own authority and dismantling any structures that keep us working too hard and too long out of fear.

Taurus

Uranus is still in your sign and the April born bulls are still on the move! This month for you Taurus dearest is focussed on your intellectual and communicative needs; what are you learning and are you teaching it to the world?  We don’t really know something until we can teach it and we learn the best when we teach.  

Any limiting beliefs that you have about your intellectual capacity, any teachers, parents or authorities who undermined your glorious slowness could have exacerbated your development.  An eclipse is a reset and you are resetting your beliefs about your outward expression.  Taurus is solid, reliable, it understands what is correct and what is incorrect.  Being able to speak at 5000 miles an hour isn’t always useful! The Lunar Eclipse on the 19th pushes you to travel and explore horizons yonder.  Broaden, your mind and trust it, become your own authority, drop the past and watch your confidence bloom.

Distancing yourself from problems and giving yourself the gift of perspective is the key this month.

Gemini

Jupiter stations in your love zone at the end of the month. All your relationships are being sprinkled with GLITTER. Make the most of your summer of LOVE.  But first you have the opportunity to unravel your financial status. Are you proud of your financial status and are you secure in what you own?  With Uranus in Taurus, money, value and themes of security are rippling under the surface for all of us.  With this eclipse in your second house it really is a time to cut up the credit cards /  start the savings account / ensure you don’t overspend (delete as appropriate.)

Venus moves from your sign into Cancer only intensifying this value and importance you will experience when you take heartfelt ownership of your finances.  Remember this eclipse is partly about letting go of what you ought to do, the past, your habits, family patterns and outdated beliefs.  You experience this eclipse every 19 years, it’s not a common occurrence, so take the opportunity  The sense of self worth is worth it, especially when you remember that Jupiter is just WAITING to take you on a journey of FUN!

Also worth nothing that Mercury will be retrograde from the 7th to the 31st of the month, so a little extra care in your decision making and communications will be required.
